Airmen and their families from the Air National Guard's I.G. Brown Training and Education Center and the Tennessee National Guard's 134th Air Refueling Wing joined for a unit Vs. unit softball game Friday, May 17, at Springbrook Park in Alcoa, Tennessee.

"This is an opportunity to team build a bit, which does not happen enough," U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Juan P. Castro, assigned to the education center, said.

Sergeant Castro and others helped organize the event, which included a cookout and music provided by the wing's recruiting office.

McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base at Knoxville's airport is home to both units.

The Wing Commander, U.S. Air Force Col. M. Lee Hartley, Jr., and the education center Deputy Commander, U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. John Capra, tossed a coin to decide which team batted first.

"They are already talking about holding this event annually," Sergeant Castro said.

The wing won both six-inning games.
